I'm Glistening

MAC I’m Glistening Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark, taupe brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with about a half layer on top. The texture was lightweight, emollient enough to skate across the lips without tugging but not enough that it felt slippery or moved around while worn. The lipstick wore well for four and a half hours on me and was non-drying.

Formula Overview

$17.50/0.10 oz. - $175.00 Per Ounce

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying. Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying. The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Rouge en Snow

MAC Rouge en Snow Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark red with strong, cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, while the texture was smooth, dense without being stiff, and comfortable to apply without feeling slippery on the lips after application. The color was still going strong after six hours of wear and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Elle Belle

MAC Elle Belle Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a dark, reddish plum with subtle, cool undertones and a creamy finish. It had good color coverage, though not quite opaque, that applied evenly across the lips. The lipstick felt creamy, emollient, and had some slip on the lips. I did not experience any feathering along the edges over the five and a half hours it lasted for. The formula was lightly hydrating over time.
