NARS Damned Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($27.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a rich berry with cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied an even, smooth layer of color that sat well on the lips. Despite having a more matte finish, it did not look dry or powdery on my lips. The consistency felt velvety as it glided across the lips, and it was a lightweight formula that was comfortable to wear and non-drying over the six hours it lasted. There was a slight stain left behind after I removed this shade.
The formula is supposed to be “long-lasting” with “rich” and “seamless color.” The texture has a more velvety feel: smooth, thinner but glides on easily, and doesn’t have a lot of wetness/creaminess. The pigmentation varied from shade to shade with most shades having semi-opaque coverage. They were easy to apply along the lips and comfortable to apply, as they did not tug. The formula lasted anywhere from three hours to six hours, and some shades were somewhat drying and others were non-drying.

The pigmentation was mostly opaque, while the texture felt smooth and velvety going on, though it looked a little drier on the lips. It was lightweight, fairly comfortable to wear as it only felt drying after five hours of wear, and the color lasted for six in total.
