Dior Golden (065) Diorific Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a light-medium gold with a frosted shimmer-sheen finish. It’s designed as a layering shade in the brand’s holiday collection. It had semi-sheer color coverage that went on fairly evenly. I liked that there was enough coverage (and the shimmer distributed well) that it could be worn on its own, while still working as a shade to layer over or under other lip colors. The texture was thin, smooth, and comfortable to wear. It lasted for three hours on its own, and I didn’t have any issues with the shimmer migrating beyond my lips. Dior Splendor (950) Diorific Matte Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was good, not quite opaque but nearly there. The texture felt velvety, not too thick or too thin but had substance to it, and it glided across the lips without tugging and yielded smooth, even coverage. It is actually designed to be less opaque than the traditional Diorific range, so it seems to be on the mark there, though it is really more of a satin finish than a “powdery matte” finish. The color wore well for seven hours, left a stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating. The formula has a heavy floral scent to it.
