Smashbox Red Rage Be Legendary Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark ruby red with strong, pink undertones and fine fuchsia shimmer sprinkled throughout. Though it wasn’t fully opaque, it covered evenly and smoothly as the lipstick glided on without tugging and sat well without settling into lip lines. It had semi-opaque color coverage, so some of the natural lip color will come through. The texture was light-medium in weight with a moderately creamy feel–more emollient than the average shade in the range–that covered well and didn’t streak. Of all the Cream shades, this had the least glossiness, but it definitely wasn’t matte. The texture was a bit thicker, and it applied without dragging, but it didn’t sit as well on the lips and emphasized the texture. Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.10 oz.) is supposed to be a creamy, long-wearing, richly pigmented formula that’s lightweight and moisturizing. The consistency is light-medium in thickness–not thin but not heavy–that sits well on the lips and adheres for four to seven hours comfortably. Most of the shades had semi-opaque to fully opaque color coverage that went on evenly and smoothly. Some shades were nicely hydrating while others were lightly moisturizing but none of the Cream shades were drying. There is a very, very faint vanilla scent to them (I can only detect when the entire tube is untwisted) but no discernible taste.
