Chanel Rouge Charnel (56) Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark pink-tinted red with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. There was very subtle pearl that gave it a light shine. The texture was very smooth, velvety, and thin without being clingy. The lipstick sat well on the lips without emphasizing imperfections, and it lasted for over six hours. It started to feel drying after six hours of wear on me. It had very near-to opaque color coverage that went on fairly smoothly. This shade had a velvety consistency that was thin without being clingy, but it seemed to have more slip to it than other shades as the color separated a bit along my upper lip and had some color settle into lip lines on my lower lip. It was comfortable wear and lasted for five and a half hours, and it was neither drying nor hydrating (the formula is supposed to be “non-drying,” so that’s actually as promised!). It had great pigmentation that applied with smooth, even coverage. The texture was lightly creamy, velvety, and comfortable to wear. I happened to wear this one when I was out all day, and it was still noticeably on even after ten hours (though I’d say solid wear came in at six to seven hours). The pigmentation was mostly opaque, though there was just a tiny hint of the natural lip peeking through, mostly around the center of the mouth. The consistency was more emollient than the other three shades, but it didn’t slide around or feather on me either.
