MAC Von Teese Lipstick
MAC Von Teese Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “vivid tomato red [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bright, medium red with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. Maybelline Siren in Scarlet (P, $7.99) is cooler (95% similar). Hourglass Raven (P, $28.00) is brighter, less glossy (95% similar). MAC My Inner Femme (LE, $17.00) is lighter, less glossy (95% similar). NARS Annabella (P, $32.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (90% similar). Bite Beauty Candied Maple (LE, $24.00) is brighter (95% similar). NARS Rita (P, $32.00) is warmer (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury 1975 Red (LE, $32.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Kat Von D Gold Blooded (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Barbecue (LE, $17.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). NARS Carmen (P, $32.00) is lighter, warmer, glossier (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
This is a new, limited edition lipstick created in collaboration with Dita Von Teese. It will release on December 9th at all MAC locations and exclusively online at maccosmetics.com (North America) and December 2015 at international locations. It comes in a glossy black tube with Von Teese written in shiny red, and the same embososed on the lipstick itself. The texture was lightly creamy, smooth, and velvety (like a lot of the newer MAC matte lipsticks have been) that glided on well with rich, opaque coverage that wore for over six hours. The formula was a smidgen drying on me. It had a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.
