Anastasia Midnight Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a deep black with a matte finish and neutral undertones. Kat Von D Slayer (P, $21.00) is lighter, less pigmented (95% similar). Anastasia’s Liquid Lipstick is supposed to be “ultra-saturated” and “deliver an intense shot of matte pigment in one easy swipe” that will “stay put for hours.” It’s one of my least favorite Liquid Lipstick formulas, as it has a really long drying time and is a drying formula overall. Midnight had good color coverage with a slightly thin consistency that seemed thicker than other Anastasia shades but thinner than Paint. It takes about ten minutes to dry down and fully set, and it remains fairly transfer-resistant for the six hours it wears, but it does fade unevenly from the center of the lip for me. I also get slight “cracking” once I smile as the formula clings noticeably. It was somewhat drying after three hours of wear.
