Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a range of ten shades that are sheerer, but still more pigmented than not, compared to the original Revolution formula. The shades are inspired by (with the exception of Sheer Slowburn) shades in the original range as well, so if you own the original, you could probably skip these and just sheer it out yourself. That being said, if you like a sheerer application and often apply while out and about, then you may appreciate the convenience of the sheer formula.
The consistency is thinner and less creamy/dense, and when paired with the translucent quality of the color, gives it a lighter look on the lips. It seems very in line with spring, though I still very much hope we’ll see additions to the regular formula this year as well (maybe summer?). I wish they were more hydrating (and I’ll be eager to hear how others find them to be once they’re able to try them), and some shades could apply more evenly right away. They seem to melt in a way that tends to self-level the color on lips, so they don’t look quite as uneven over time. The upside is that they wore a little longer than average when compared to other similarly-textured formulas.
Are you eager to try out the new formula? Will you stick with the original? Do neither appeal to you?
